Since local Scottsdale residents, visitors from Canada and other great parts of the world whether on vacation or here for the Arabian horse show, are in a flux; what do we do on a rainy day in Scottsdale?
The first thing to do is go to the Arabian horse show at Westworld in North Scottsdale.
After you’ve gone to the horse show, go look at some of most beautiful homes in Scottsdale which are being held as an open house. Yes, he again you are reading correctly. Real estate agents, or at least hard-working real estate agents (unless they are working with home buyers today) are holding homes open for potential buyers to see.
So, you ask, where do I find a list of these open houses in Scottsdale?
The easiest way to find open houses, is to simply drive around neighborhoods such as DC ranch, Grayhawk, McCormick Ranch, Gainey Ranch, Scottsdale Ranch or in many of the smaller towns such as Chandler, Gilbert and Fountain Hills.
Realtors should have visible open house signs pointing clearly and easily to the homes that are being held open. Hopefully, they have warm coffee or lease cookies as well as information on the homes and if they are experts, information on other homes in the area.
The second way to find out what homes are being held open is the newspaper. The Arizona Republic has a list of open house in the Friday and Sunday real estate sections.
Finally, since no one reads the newspaper anymore: LOL, the Internet has several websites where it easy to look up in search listings in any of the towns surrounding Scottsdale and of greater Phoenix. Real estate buyers can find open houses in Scottsdale at open houses.com; the site is user-friendly, very easy to search and extremely informative and comprehensive regarding available open houses that local Realtors have listed.
Other Internet sites that list open houses include Trulia.com , Zillow.com, Realtor.com and my favorite RealtyExecutives.com: please notice the shameless plug the .
even though it’s raining today and Scottsdale, there are three open houses of several price points are available to go visit. Though the may not have hot coffee, the homes are well worth seeing.
The first home is at 9797 E. Cortez in Scottsdale. This is a nearly 2 1/2 acre horse property in the heart of Scottsdale at the cactus corridor.

Finally, if you are in Scottsdale, near old town or The Fashion Sq., Mall please look at this Arcadia listing south of Lafayette on Calle Comercio. This 2006 custom home is extremely attractive physically; however what is most appealing is that this masterpiece is being offered with seller financing, seller carry back or wrap making the transaction easy if you do not want to pay for cash or having difficulty getting a mortgage.
